'Rename colleges after martyrs'

The Jammu Joint Students'' Federation (JJSF) has passed a resolution demanding renaming of Jammu colleges in memory of the 1966 student martyrs.

The Jammu Joint Students' Federation (JJSF) has passed a resolution demanding renaming of Jammu colleges in memory of the 1966 student martyrs. Volunteers led by Pushvinder Singh Manhas, state president, JJSF, Atul Sudan, state vice-president, JJSF, paid floral tributes to the students who died in 1966 agitation. Prof Poonam Dhawan ,Dean Academics Affairs Cluster University, Dr Kaushal Samotra, Principal GGM Science College, Zorawar Singh Jamwal, Chairman, Team Jammu, also visited the spot and paid their tributes. Addressing the gathering, Zorawar Singh Jamwal said that JJSF had a long history of  fighting against discrimination with Jammu.

Inter-school poem  recitation 

Students of Jammu Sanskriti School Kathua participated in a inter-school poem recitation competition under the banner of Sahodaya Jammu Complex at Doon International School where 104 students from different schools from both Jammu and Kathua region participated. Students Angel Luthra, Class III, Preshleen Kaur, Class II, Harshumeet Kaur, Class IV and Aditya Khajuria of Class V participated in the competition. Aditya Khajuria of Class V ranked third and was given a trophy and a certificate. Mili R Sumbria , Principal, Sanskriti School, congratulated the winners.
