UGC orientation course ends at JU

JAMMU: A four-week-long University Grants Commission (UGC) general orientation course for teachers concluded at the University of Jammu (JU) on Tuesday.

A four-week-long University Grants Commission (UGC) general orientation course for teachers concluded at the University of Jammu (JU) on Tuesday.

The course was organised by the Human Resource Development Centre, JU, in collaboration with the Urdu department.

AG Mir, ADGP (Headquarters), was the chief guest of the valedictory function. In his address, Mir called upon the teachers to inculcate the values of empathy and positive attitude. He termed teachers as role models and nation builders.

Mir observed that the teaching community in the state holds a position of honour and was revered in society.

Prof Naresh Padha, Dean of Sciences, hoped that the teachers would go back to their respective institutions and disseminate the knowledge further to their students.

On the occasion, the university felicitated AG Mir for his outstanding contribution to the state. Earlier, Prof Shohab Inayat Malik, Dean, faculty of arts, and HoD, Urdu, underlined various areas of study that was covered in the month-long programme.
