National karate c’ship to be held tomorrow

HOSHIARPUR: The 8th OGKFI National Karate Championship organised by the Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate Federation of India, will be held at Shakti Hall here on Sunday.

Hoshiarpur, December 21

The 8th OGKFI National Karate Championship organised by the Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate Federation of India, will be held at Shakti Hall here on Sunday. The championship will be organised in collaboration with Jagmohan’s Institute of Traditional Karate.

The president and chief coach of the federation, Shihan Jagmohan Vij, and general secretary, Advocate Dr Deepak Sharma, said: “The championship is being organised in the state for the second time under the patronage of technical commission members, World Karate Federation, and secretary general, Karate Association of India, Hanshi Bharat Sharma.”

As many as 500 players from various states and union territories will participate in the championship. A total of 100 international players will also participate. Various persons will be honoured on the occasion for their contribution to karate.
