JALANDHAR: To discuss the issue of genetically modified (GM) mustard in detail, its social impact, a people’s dialogue on GM mustard in Punjab will be organised on November 26 in Chandigarh.

To discuss the issue of genetically modified (GM) mustard in detail, its social impact, a people’s dialogue on GM mustard in Punjab will be organised on November 26 in Chandigarh.

Kapil Bhai Shah from Vadodara, an expert in plant breeding and genetics and one of India’s foremost organic farming advocates, who has also studied the data of GM mustard extensively, and eminent agriculture policy expert Dr Devinder Sharma would be the key speakers in the event.

Representatives of various farmers’ organisations, environmental groups, civil society people, medical experts, intellectuals, academicians and consumers would also express their views on the occasion. — TNS
