LUDHIANA:A man has alleged police inaction in a case of theft.

Ludhiana, August 13

A man has alleged police inaction in a case of theft. He said he is being made to do the rounds of the police station despite providing CCTV footage of suspects to the Daba police.

Rai Singh of Preet Nagar who is a technician with the DMC, said on July 26, 2017, when the family was away, thieves broke into his house by breaking the locks. “The theft in our house took place between 1 pm and 4 pm. I managed to get the CCTV footage from the locality, in which four persons on two scooters were seen roaming near my house. The registration number of one of the scooters is visible. We submitted it to the police. We came to know that the scooter belonged to someone living on the Tibba Road,” Rai said.

“I have been doing the rounds of the Daba station and requesting the police to round up the suspect for questioning, but they are not taking my pleas seriously. Now, I will complain to the Police Commissioner and request him to speed up investigation,” he said. The investigating officer from the Daba police station, HC Jarnail Singh, did not respond to repeated phone calls made by The Tribune.— TNS
