Mohali STF nabs two Dhanas residents with 265-gm heroin

Sleuths of the Special Task Force here have arrested two drug peddlers with 265 gm of heroin and Rs 8,000.

The suspects have been identified as Rajinder Singh, alias Goldy, and Anil Mukhiya, both residents of Dhanas, Chandigarh.

Harpreet Singh, AIG (STF), said the suspects were travelling in a Brezza when they were intercepted at a naka laid in Phase 3-A here following a tip-off.

“The duo was coming from Chandigarh to supply the drug, which was kept in a polythene bag. The drug money was recovered from the glove box in the car,” said the AIG.

The official said earlier, the duo was accomplice of a drug peddler, Parvesh Kumar, also from Dhanas. “Currently, Parvesh Kumar is lodged in Burail jail. The vehicle recovered from the duo actually belongs to Parvesh, who is still paying its instalments,” said the AIG.

The two suspects have been facing at least seven cases in the city. The police said the duo used to buy drug from a Nigerian in Delhi.

A case under Sections 21, 25, 29, 61 and 85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at the STF police station in Phase 4 here.
