Victim''s family gets inadequate compensation; BJP leader a slap

CHANDIGARH: Congress MLA Umang Singhar on Sunday slapped BJP leader Pradeep Gadiya over taking credit for cheque distribution to the family of a girl, who was electrocuted on Friday.

Congress MLA Umang Singhar on Saturday slapped BJP leader Pradeep Gadiya over taking credit for cheque distribution to the family of a girl, who was electrocuted on Friday,

The incident took place in front of BJP MP Savitri Thakur at Dhar in Madhya Pradesh.  

A clip of the incident, which went viral, shows Singhar and Gadiya indulging in an altercation. As the brawl heated up, Singhar pushes and slaps the BJP leader, the video shows.

The 8-year-old girl was electrocuted on Friday after she stepped on a live wire.

It all started when the girl was given Rs 5,000 only as compensation by the electricity department. The Congress MLA came to the village to meet the victim's family on Sunday morning.  In the meanwhile, the BJP leader also reached the village after getting the news.  Both the leaders entered into an argument  after which the Congress MLA slapped Gadiya.

It is learnt that electricity board later released a cheque of Rs four lakh to the family of the victim.  Gadiya has filed a complaint against Singhar.
