Ludhiana, February 20

The Sarabha Nagar police have booked two youths for raping a Delhi-based girl, who is a student of second year in a college under the Delhi University and working as wedding planner.

The accused are Shivang of Ghaziabad and Yashpal of Mathura. They are yet to be arrested. The girl alleged that she was raped by the accused after she was served some liquid laced with some sedatives.

As per the statement given by the girl, she and her friend were called by Karan Sachdeva, a wedding planner, for a wedding event and they had reached here on February 16. The two accused had also come along with them to assist them in event planning.

“Me and my friend and the two boys were given rooms in a hotel in the Sarabha Nagar area. “On February 19, when we were about to enter our hotel room, the lock of our room developed some snag and even the master key provided by the hotel staff did not help. We then decided to stay in the room of the accused. Since I was not feeling well, accused Yashpal, a medical student, gave me some medicine and the moment I took the medicine, I became unconscious. When I woke up in the morning, I found myself half naked and I believe that the two raped me. They even attempted to molest my friend,” the girl told the police.
