CHANDIGARH: A ray of hope has emerged for resumption of direct air connectivity between Amritsar and London.

Chandigarh, September 22

A ray of hope has emerged for resumption of direct air connectivity between Amritsar and London. UK MP Tanmanjit Singh Dhesi said he had a meeting on the issue with Tara Naidu, Air India Head of Europe operations, in her office at West London along with Slough businessman Tansir Bukhari.

During the deliberations, he impressed upon her to reinstate direct flights from London to Amritsar. Dhesi said he had suggested the Air India representative that there were three daily direct flights between Heathrow and Delhi and one of these could be extended to Amritsar. — TNS
