Fazilka, September 30

Congress’Raminder Singh Awla, SAD’s Raj Singh Dibbipura and AAP’s Mahinder Singh Kachura filed their nominations from the Jalalabad constituency today.

PPCC chief Sunil Jakhar, Cabinet Ministers Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi and Gurpreet Singh Kangar and MLA Amarinder Raja Warring accompanied Awla.

However, Capt Amarinder Singh did not turn up and left the workers disappointed.

Lashing out at the Centre, Jakhar demanded that it should offer jobs to the unemployed youth to fulfil its promise. He calimed that the SAD-BJP combine should clear its stand on ‘chitta’.

SAD chief Sukhbir Badal, who accompanied Dibbipura, claimed that the Congress had betrayed the state people.

He said the Congress failed to field local candidates in the Jalalabad and Dakha constituencies which amounted to accepting defeat.

He gave credit to his father and senior leader Parkash Singh Badal’s over the commutation of death sentence of Babbar Khalsa terrorist Balwant Singh Rajoana. — OC
