Chandigarh: The government has started a new scheme for Scheduled Caste and inter-caste marriages. Assistance worth Rs 75,000 per couple will be provided to such couples. A spokesperson said NGOs, trusts and other social welfare institutions arranging more than 10 such marriages would get Rs 75,000 per couple. Those desirous of availing themselves of the benefits could contact the District Welfare Officer concerned. TNS
