A High Court for Burma.

IN the course of the address presented by the Rangoon Chamber of Commerce to His Excellency the Viceroy the other day the Chairman asked for a High Court for Bureau on the ground that Punjab, Behar and Orissa had already been granted a High Court. His Excellency appreciated the ambitions of Burma in this respect, but said “as the question involves financial consideration and all items of expenditure in these times have to be carefully scrutinised, I can do more than promise that I shall not lose sight of your request.” The point worth noting here is that a reform carried out in one province of India becomes equally necessary in the others and cannot be reasonably withheld long.
