Indian Cinema Shows in England

ENGLISH papers of mail week publish eulogistic paragraphs about the exhibition of cinematograph pictures relating to India.

ENGLISH  papers of mail week publish eulogistic paragraphs about the exhibition of cinematograph pictures relating to India. Of these the following, which we take from the Morning Post, is a specimen: “The Government of India some time ago granted special facilities for the taking of cinematograph pictures illustrative of daily life within our Indian Empire. The films have been completed and were shown for the first time yesterday at a private view at the West End Cinema, Coventry-street, which was attended by many Anglo-Indians and officers of the Indian Army. The series is remarkably complete, and when the time comes for public exhibitions on the screen the British people will have a unique opportunity afforded them of realising something of the loyalty of India to the Empire, of the numerous picturesque native races which dwell within her borders, of their habitats and customs at work and at play, and the growth of her industrial development.
