It is for democratic politicians in the democratic world to do so,” Nick Clegg told the BBC. Britain has said it will make social media bosses personally liable for harmful content. AFP

Australian broadcaster sues police after raids

Sydney: Australia’s national broadcaster went to court on Monday to challenge a police raid on its offices and demand the return of files seized during the controversial operation. The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) demanded an injunction to prevent police from accessing the seized files, which concern a two-year-old investigative report on war crimes by Australian Special Forces in Afghanistan. Pakistan’s ex-foreign minister Sattar passes away

Islamabad: Pakistan’s former foreign minister Abdul Sattar, who accompanied then military dictator Pervez Musharraf as the country’s top diplomat during the historic Agra summit, has died at the age of 88. Sattar, a career diplomat and two-time foreign minister, passed away on Sunday, according to the Foreign Office. He served as Pakistan’s foreign minister under then president and military dictator Musharraf from 1999 to 2002. PTI
