Inter-school sports meet gets under way at BFGI

Bathinda, November 28

Students of Baba Farid Group of Institutions (BFGI) took part in the three-day inter-school sports meet, which started at the BFGI ground here on Thursday. Matches of cricket, table tennis, chess, volleyball and basketball were held.

In these tournaments, more than 3000 players from over 200 government and private schools of Punjab and neighbouring states such as Rajasthan and Haryana will participate.

Pardeep Kaura, Deputy Director (Academics), BFGI, inaugurated the inter-school sports meet, 2019. On the occasion, BD Sharma, Deputy Director Career Guidance and Counselling, among others were present.

While addressing students, teachers and coaches of different schools at the inter-school sports meet, BD Sharma said, “It is a great effort of BFGI for students of Classes IX, X, XI and XII of the region for enhancing their sports talent. Young players of cricket, table tennis, chess volleyball and basketball will be encouraged by such events.”

He said sports kept us away from drugs and make us healthy, so students should participate in sports. He said it was easy to achieve every destination with a healthy mind and body. He appreciated the efforts of everyone for making this event successful and gave his best wishes to all the participants.
