Mohali, March 8

Jatinder Sohi claimed the first position in the open golf (putting) championship organised to mark the International Women’s Day at Mohali Golf Range today.

Ranjit Kaur and Milipreet Kaur claimed the joint second position. In the senior category, 73-year-old golfer Amarjeet Kaur won the top podium position. In the sub-junior category, three-year-old Aarzoo emerged as the sole winner. Arjuna Award winner Harmeet Kahlon, director at the Mohali Golf Range, also announced that the management will organise a free beginner level golf camp for women golfers of the region.

The participants will be taught ball hitting, chipping and putting. The two-hour long camp started today under senior coach Preetinder Kaur. —TNS
