CHANDIGARH:Anresha (6 points) helped Saupin’s School (Sector 32) defeat Vivek High School (Mohali) 12-6 in the girls’ U-12 category in the ongoing St Kabir Basketball Trophy here today.

Anresha (6 points) helped Saupin’s School (Sector 32) defeat Vivek High School (Mohali) 12-6 in the girls’ U-12 category in the ongoing St Kabir Basketball Trophy here today. Kyra netted four points for Vivek High.

In another match, Strawberry Fields High School (Sector 26) defeated DAV School (Sector 8) 14-2, with Shanaya doing the bulk of scoring by getting 8 points.

Vivek High School (Sector 38) won the third match of the day by defeating St Peter’s School (Sector 37) 14-2. Kashvi contributed eight points for the winners.

In the boys’ U-14 category, Aryan contributed seven points as St Kabir School (Sector 26) defeated Strawberry Fields High School 37-8. New Public School (Sector 18) faced tough resistance from Saupin’s School before logging a 38-32 win. Gaurav was the star for the New Public School, contributing 28 points, while Akul gathered 30 points for Saupin’s School.

St Stephen’s School (Sector 45) defeated Sri Guru Harkishan Model School (Sector 38) 22-10 with the help of Namay Gupta (9 points). St Peter’s School boys defeated DAV School 35-6, with Aditya Nagar topped the points tally for the winners with 27 points. Vivek High (Mohali) ousted St Joseph’s Senior Secondary School (Sector 44) 23-6. Hartaj with 11 points was the star player for Vivek High.  —TNS
