Dasehra was celebrated at St Soldier School with great joy.



Dasehra was celebrated at St Soldier School with great joy. To mark the victory of Lord Rama over Ravana and to reinforce the message that good always triumphs over evil, an effigy of Ravana was also burnt. Principal Neelam Bhar addressed the students and told them the purpose of organizing the festival.

St Joseph’s Sr Sec School

Healthy drink activity was conducted at the Kindergarten block of St Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44-D, Chandigarh. The little ones were encouraged to have fresh and seasonal juices, milk, lassi, lemonade in place of carbonated drinks as they helped in the development of the body and mind. Teachers displayed various beverages on the table to the children recognise and understand the concept in a better way. They also relished lassi, lemonade and fresh juices.

Govt Model High School

A free vision testing camp was organised at Govt Model High School, 1RC, Dhanas, Chandigarh. The camp was organised by the Lions and Lioness Clubs, Panchkula, along with their youth wing. More than 500 students were examined. 

Sharda Sarvhitkari School 

Dasehra was celebrated at Sharda Sarvhitkari Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 40-D, Chandigarh, with full religious fervour. The ceremonial burning of the effigy of Ravana symbolised the victory of good over evil. Children of Classes II and III dressed up as Lord Rama, Lakshman, Sita, Jatayu etc.

Gurukul Global School 

Class VIII students of Gurukul Global School, Manimajra, organised a rally on the school campus to make all students and staff members aware about the disposal of e-waste. They made thought provoking posters on the same. The students also discussed about the harmful effects of e-waste and why it was important to collect e-waste separately.

St Teresa Convent School

St Teresa Convent Senior Secondary School, Sector 25, Panchkula, celebrated Dasehra with great enthusiasm. The main motive of organising the event was to impart knowledge to the students about rich heritage of India. 

Rayat Bahra Int’l School  

Rayat Bahra International School (RBIS) celebrated Navratras and Dasehra on the school campus. Various cultural programmes were held on the occasion. Students of the pre-primary wing showcased various forms of Durga. The little ones were dressed up like different characters from the Ramayana. A poetic Ramayana was also presented by the students. Manjeet Kaur Bahra graced the occasion. Principal Abhilasha Singh appreciated everyone for presenting a wonderful programme. 

Bhavan Vidyalaya Junior 

Dasehra was celebrated in the primary wing of Bhavan Vidyalaya, Chandigarh, with a lot of religious zeal and fervour. The ceremonial burning of the effigy of Ravana symbolised the burning of all vices in a person. The significance and importance of celebrating the festival was explained by Pooja Dheer. Principal Soma Mukhopadhyay blessed the students. — TNS
