Chief Minister Manohar Lal said, “Today is a historic day when the foundation stone of the country’s 22nd AIIMS has been laid here.” In 2013, when the Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, at that time, the people of the country saw him to be the next Prime Minister and his journey as the Prime Minister began from Rewari on September 15, 2013.

Stone laid for development projects

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid foundation and inaugurated development projects worth Rs 9,770 crore
  • Besides, Rohtak-Meham-Hansi Rail line, the PM through virtual mode laid the foundation stone of Gurugram Metro project, at a cost of Rs 5,450 crore
  • He also laid the foundation stones of doubling of Bhiwani-Dobh Bhali line at a cost of Rs 470 crore, Manheru-Bawani Khera line at a cost of Rs 410 crore, Rewari-Khatuwas line at a cost of Rs 350 crore, and the Khatuwas-Narnaul line at a cost of Rs 310 crore
  • PM also inaugurated the Jyotisar Anubhav Kendra built in Kurukshetra at a cost of Rs 240 crore

Speaking at the foundation-laying ceremony in Majra village here, the Chief Minister said, for years, the people here had been demanding a centre like the AIIMS be opened and today its foundation stone had been laid.

“The campaign to open medical colleges in every district of the state, which has been launched by the Haryana Government, also holds great importance in health services. This AIIMS will not only benefit the people of southern Haryana but also the people of Rajasthan,” said Khattar.

He also expressed gratitude to the people of Majra village, who have donated their panchayat land for the AIIMS. A private land has also been purchased for this.

“Haryana’s first airport is being built in Hisar district. Domestic and international flights will start there very soon. Today is also important from cultural point of view as the Prime Minister has inaugurated the Jyotisar Anubhav Kendra,” he added.

Union Minister Rao Inderjit said in 2014, there were only seven AIIMS in the country, but today the Prime Minister has laid the foundation stone of the country’s 22nd AIIMS. In 2014, only 23 km of metro was established in a year, which is now increasing to 63 kilometers per year.

“The inauguration of the 27-km metro line from Huda City Centre to Cyber City has also been done in Gurugram,” he added.

Deputy Chief Minister, Dushyant Chautala, Cooperation Minister Dr Banwari Lal, BJP state incharge Biplab Deb, BJP State President, Nayab Singh Saini and MP Sh. Dharambir Singh and other dignitaries also remained present on this occasion.
