Rohtak, February 12
Eyeing the Assembly constituency of former Chief Minister and veteran Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda, the BJP today included his detractor and former state minister Krishan Murti Hooda into the party-fold in the presence of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar here today.
Former Deputy Speaker of Haryana Vidhan Sabha Azad Mohammad, international boxer Sweety Boora and her husband and former Kabaddi captain Deepak Hooda also joined the BJP on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, the Chief Minister stated that safeguarding the rights of the poor was paramount for the state government.
“The government has identified poor families through the Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP), and dedicated efforts are being made to ensure the reach of every welfare scheme at the doorsteps of every beneficiary,” he said while addressing a gathering here today.
Khattar said the Haryana Government had transformed the old systems in the state. “Before 2014, there were various illegal practices going on under the names of CLU (change of land use) and licences in Haryana. Now, the rights to issue all these have been handed over to the respective departments,” he stated. Member of Parliament and state BJP president Nayab Singh Saini said government jobs were being provided on merit and the welfare policies of the government had strengthened the trust of farmers, women, labourers, and all sections of society. Lok Sabha MP Dr Arvind Sharma, Rajya Sabha MP Lt-Gen (Retd) DP Vats and other leaders were present.
