Minister of State for Women and Child Development Kamlesh Dhanda said procurement of paddy below the minimum support price (MSP) would not be allowed.
Taking cognisance of complaints regarding this issue in Kaithal, she directed Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya to call a meeting with the officers concerned and find a solution.
Farmers harassed

Dhanda had received a complaint regarding irregularities in the procurement of paddy, highlighting that some people in the district had procured paddy at a price Rs 100 to Rs 125 less than the minimum support price (MSP). She further directed the Deputy Commissioner to discuss the matter with the department officers, millers and arhtiyas.
The minister said a special girdawari of crops damaged due to rain would be started in Kaithal district from Saturday, and for this, directions had been given to the officers concerned.
