Volleyball tourney in memory of coach

Thana village in the Surachali area of Jubbal tehsil is organising a volleyball tournament from July 20 to 22 in memory of its son, Hemant Chatranta 26, a chief national coach who died in a road accident last year.

The prizes include cash rewards and the Hemant Chatranta memorial volleyball tournament trophy.

Hemant was killed when his car fell into a gorge last year.

After the tragic death of their only son, his family and other villagers decided to organise a tournament in his memory.
