Students in various BTech programmes in Dr B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar, under the (Ministry of HRD, Government of India) are being admitted through JOSAA (Joint Seats Allocation Authority) and CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board).
This year, the admission process commenced from June 28. Prof LK Awasthi, Director of the institute, said: “This year, seven rounds shall be held. After that two special rounds at the national-level shall be organised for the admission process.”
“The first round shall took place from June 28 to July 2. The second round for the vacant seats shall took place from July 4-5 and the third round shall be held from July 7 to July 8.” he added.
Prof Awasthi said: “The fourth, fifth and sixth round shall be held from July 10 to July 11, July 13 to July 14 and July 16 to July 17 respectively. The seventh round is mainly institute admission round, that shall take place from July 19 to July 23.”
“Two national-level special spot rounds shall be held from July 29-31, and August 2-5. Till the end of third round, as many as 609 students from different NITs of the country have reported at the Institute,” he added.
Awasthi said: “This year, because of the implementation of the reservation of General-EWS (Economically Weaker Section), the total sanctioned seats of the Institute for the BTech programme have been enhanced to 1,103.”
“As of now, total,1,069 students have got admission in BTech courses at the Dr B R Ambedkar NIT Jalandhar, throughout different reporting centres of the country,” he added.
Dr Nitai Basak, Associate Dean Academic (UG) is the Center in-charge and Dr Anish Sachdeva, Associate Dean, Academic (PG), is the Deputy Centre in charge for this year BTech admission through JOSAA/CSAB 2019.
