The bodies of Gen Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat and Brig LS Lidder have been identified, military sources said on Thursday evening.
Process for positive identification of remaining mortal remains is continuing, a senior functionary said. “Mortal remains will be kept at the mortuary of Army Base Hospital here till completion of positive identification formalities”, the official said.
Identification is done using DNA sampling.

Appropriate military funerals of all deceased are being planned and coordinated in close consultation with close family members.
The mortal remains of General Rawat, his wife and Brig Lidder will be released to the families for final religious rites.
An Indian Airforce aircraft from Sulur (Coimbatore) is expected to arrive at Palam airbase here by 7.40 pm. A homage ceremony is scheduled from 8.30 pm onwards. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh are scheduled to be present.
The copter, a M17-V5 of the Indian Air Force had crashed killing 13 of those on board.
The IAF has recovered the flight data recorder that would give clues to what happened in final minutes.
