The Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association has withdrawn the resolution, whereby it was decided to boycott the court of the Chief Justice and to seek his transfer to another High Court.
A press note issued today said the representatives of the Bar Association’s executive committee met the Chief Justice, who graciously considered all demands regarding the “mentioning system for listing of cases”. “All the workable demands were met,” the note added. It was also stated that the Chief Justice and the executive committee representatives, Bar president GBS Dhillon and honorary secretary Chanchal K Singla, agreed to work for the growth of the institution, being major stakeholders.
“All differences have mutually been ironed out and it has been decided to work together for the betterment of the legal fraternity…. The executive committee of the Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association would keep on working for the betterment of Bar members, the legal fraternity and the residents of the states of Punjab, Haryana and UT of Chandigarh,” the note concluded.
