Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president and former Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Wednesday here urged Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi to club together all the 1984 anti-Sikh riot cases which are presently pending in various courts for a day-to-day hearing.

Upping the ante in the wake of first conviction of two riot accused by a Delhi’s lower court in a riot case, Badal demanded narco test on Congress president Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi by the SIT to establish the alleged conspiracy of Congress leaders, including the then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, behind the violence against the Sikhs.

He was flanked by victims’ kin, who are also legal witnesses regarding violent incidents in the wake of assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on October 31, 1984.

Sukhbir urged Gagoi to constitute a fast track court and transfer all the cases to it.

“The community has already waited for 34 years for justice due to machinations of Congress regimes at the behest of the Gandhi family. The family has been shielding the accused,” he said.
