A training academy being run by the district administration at Lohara village here has proved to be a great success once again, as three youth, including two girls, from underprivileged section of society successfully qualified for the Border Security Force (BSF) in the recently held recruitment test.

Moga DC Sandeep Hans said the academy, which was started in October 2018, was the brainchild of Dharamkot Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Narinder Singh Dhaliwal, who is also a “receiver” (administrator) of Fakkar Baba Damu Shah Society. The same society funds the academy.

The academy was started with an aim to provide free training, both for physical and written test, to youth who were needy, dedicated and aspiring to join military and para-military forces.

The DC said Kirandeep Kaur (23) of Landeke village, Gursewak Singh (21) of Khosa Randhir village and Inderjeet Kaur (24) of Fatehgarh Korotana village had managed to secure their names in the merit list. The trio would join the general duty after their medical tests.

He also invited the selected candidates at his office to congratulate them personally. He said the academy would be further upgraded so that more aspiring youths could undergo training here. — TNS
