Chandigarh, January 15

Just two days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL), popularly known as Atal Setu, reports have emerged of widespread violation of traffic rules and unruly behaviour on the sea bridge.

Pictures and videos circulating on X, depict a concerning scenario with paan and gutkha stains noticeable on various sections of Atal Setu.

In addition to the unsightly stains, users have shared videos capturing a blatant disregard for traffic norms on the Atal Setu. Individuals were seen treating the newly inaugurated bridge as a picnic spot. Several videos showcase motorists parking their vehicles on the sea bridge, creating potential hazards and disrupting the smooth flow of traffic.

Social media users expressed their dismay over the behaviour, with one tweet emphasising, "Money can buy cars, fuel and toll fees. Money can’t buy common sense."
