Sukhbir invites Samsung for rolling out online services

CHANDIGARH: Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today invited electronics giant Samsung to provide applications and solutions to ensure that services being rolled out in ‘Sanjh’ and ‘Sewa Kendras’ in the state are available online also.

Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today invited electronics giant Samsung to provide applications and solutions to ensure that services being rolled out in ‘Sanjh’ and ‘Sewa Kendras’ in the state are available online also.

During a visit to Samsung Electronic city in Seoul, Badal also visited the company’s innovation museum and said Samsung could consider taking up this project on a turnkey basis, said a press note issued here today.

He urged the company to send a team to Punjab so that the proposal could be taken forward. The company said it would send a team to Punjab to study the feasibility of the project. During a presentation made by Samsung officials, the company evinced interest in the use of iris recognition technology to validate identity for passing on the benefits of various social welfare schemes to citizens.
