Bihar Chief Minister and JD-U president Nitish Kumar took a meeting of his party workers here today with regard to preparations of his party for the upcoming Assembly election in Delhi-a move which is bound to raise eye-brows within its ally BJP.

Kumar also addressed his Delhi party workers near Badarpur-an area having high density population of migrants during which he demanded full state-hood for Delhi and special status for Bihar.

The JD-U and BJP are allies and they run a coalition government in Bihar. Its unilateral decision to contest the election in Delhi will discomfort the BJP which is making bids to wrest power from AAP in the state.

The JD-U is eying migrant voters which the BJP also wants to have on its side. A good chunk of them veered towards the AAP in the last two consecutive Assembly polls.

The saffron party has made its Lok Sabha MP Manoj Tiwari, a native of Poorvancal- its Delhi president to win over the migrants.

JD-U senior leader KC Tyagi said Kumar had left the poll strategy, including the number of seats to be contested and their identifications, to the party unit.
