Three people were killed on Tuesday when a car they were travelling in fell into a deep gorge on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Ramban district, police said.
The car, which was on its way to Verinag belt of Kashmir Valley from Jammu, skidded off the highway and rolled into the gorge near Panthyal bridge in the district, a police officer said.
All three occupants, including the driver, died on the spot, he said, adding that they belonged to Nowgam-Verinag area of Anantnag district in south Kashmir.
Locals, police, army and CRPF rushed to the spot to recover the bodies from the gorge, he said. PTI
