Jammu, November 20

Trade bodies have demand restoration of mobile Internet services in Jammu region. The traders stated that they could not file their Goods and Services Tax (GST) and IT returns.

Neeraj Anand, president, Chamber of Traders Federation (CTF), said, “Due to suspension of Internet in the Union Territory, business community is finding it hard to run their business.”

“Economy in Jammu & Kashmir is interdependent, so is the social well-being of citizens. We enjoy hundreds of years of common history. Due to bad strategy of our neighbouring country, a peculiar situation has emerged, which is ruining our economy.”

He said, “We are hopeful that massive investments will come in all sectors in Jammu & Kashmir . Fiscal incentives in shape of income tax relief and Goods and Services Taxexemptions should cover all sectors, including trade and services.”

The traders federation has also demanded that toll tax on goods should be abolished immediately as it is against the spirit of “One Nation, One Tax” and it hampers growth of the country.
