Two months after the murder of a woman, the police today claimed to have arrested her husband from Jharkhand. The suspect has been identified as Chandan Kumar (24), a hosiery worker of Jaspal Colony. The deceased, Reshma, was his second wife.

The police had started investigation after they found the body of an unidentified woman on May 17. The police claimed to have circulated the photos of the woman to identify her. When she was identified, the police came to know that her husband had been missing since she was murdered.

According to the Meharban police, Chandan strangled his wife and then threw her body at Kaneja. Before killing her, he had arguments with Reshma who was demanding Rs 50,000 from him for visiting her paternal home in Jharkhand. Chandan had earlier married the elder sister of Reshma.
