UT police arrest 2 in drug cases

CHANDIGARH: The Crime Branch of the UT police arrested a Mohali resident with heroin and banned injections.

The Crime Branch of the UT police arrested a Mohali resident with heroin and banned injections. In another case, a team of the Mauli Jagran police station arrested a person with 5.4 kg of ganja.

According to the police, Parmod Kumar, a resident of Phase XI, Mohali, was arrested near the Vita booth in Sector 48. He was found in possession of 20 grams of heroin and 30 banned injections.

A case has been registered against the accused under the NDPS Act at the Sector 49 police station. An investigation has been initiated into it.

The police arrested a person, identified as Summy, while patrolling at the Mauli Jagran complex. The police said the accused, who was carrying a plastic bag, tried to escape on seeing cops.

The latter followed the accused, who then climbed to the roof of a house and jumped to another before he was nabbed.

On search, the police recovered ganja from the plastic bag.

The police said the accused was on the bad character (BC) list of the Mauli Jagran police station. A fresh case has been registered against him under the NDPS Act.
