Director General of Police Punjab Gaurav Yadav on Wednesday held a meeting with police officials of the Jalandhar Commissionerate and Jalandhar Range at the Punjab Armed Police headquarters here.

This was Yadav’s first meeting in the city since he joined the post. Commissioner of Police Jalandhar and SSPs of Jalandhar Rural, Kapurthala and Hoshiarpur, other senior officials and all SHOs attended the meeting. He recalled his stint as Police Commissioner in Jalandhar about 11 years ago.

The police officials and SHOs were asked to perform their duties diligently. They were asked to keep themselves fully updated on the issues of drug smuggling and gangster activities in their areas.

The DGP asked them to confiscate the properties of drug smugglers and step up action to apprehend proclaimed offenders. The SHOs were asked to redress the grievances of public at the police station level and instill a sense of confidence in them. They were warned that he would maintain zero tolerance on corruption and bribery cases.
