Capt flags off nine hi-tech ambulances from Mohali

To strengthen the state’s health care facilities, Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh on Monday flagged off nine hi-tech ambulances equipped with world-class facilities from here.

The ambulances have been provided by Congress senior leader and Rajya Sabha member Ambika Soni from MPLAD funds for the nine segments of the Sri Anandpur Sahib Parliamentary Constituency.

Of the total nine ambulances, three would cater to the needs of the people of Ropar, three for Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, two for Mohali and one for Hoshiarpur.

The facilities in ambulances include ABS interiors, foot-operated hand wash system and wash basin, inverter, emergency light bar with siren, public address system, oxygen cylinder trolley for loading 2D type oxygen cylinders, analog oxygen delivery system besides auto loader stretcher trolley with floor mounting mechanism.

While lauding Ambika Soni for providing hi-tech ambulances to the state, Captain Amarinder Singh urged other Congress MPs to follow the suit to strengthen the state’s health care services.

“Such initiatives would go a long way in improving the health services in the state. With the presence of such ambulances, several precious lives will be saved,” said the CM at the brief function, here.

Speaking at the event, Ambika Soni said it was her humble effort to do something towards the Chief Minister’s mission to provide the best health and medical services to the people at affordable cost.

Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Brahm Mohindra also thanked Captain Amarinder Singh for getting a government medical college for Mohali.

Prominent among others present on the occasion were Technical Education Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, Media Advisor to CM Raveen Thukral, Principal Secretary to CM Tejveer Singh, Mohali MLA Balbir Singh Sidhu, Principal Secretary Health Anjali Bhawra and Mission Director NRHM Varun Roojam.
