The bold and candid statement during the press conference over the current unrest in the Kashmir valley has won Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti praise from people in the Jammu and Ladakh regions.

Soon after the press conference on Thursday, a video of the Chief Minister saying most of the youth killed in violence died because of targeting of security force camps and killing of three militants by security forces was an excuse to create mayhem vent viral on social media, it became a hot topic.

“She has the guts and substance to be the Chief Minister of the state. For the first time, a strong woman has spoken the truth in the government over Kashmir’s actual problems,” said Yogita Singh on Facebook.

Similar like posts kept flooding the social site as the first woman Chief Minister of the state became the cynosure of most people.

“Mehbooba’s straight and bold talk on Kashmir’s real problem has given many uneasy churns to her detractors, but she has became a woman of substance for the masses in Jammu and Ladakh,” said another Facebook post.

“Not a single leader from any Kashmir-based party in governance since Independence could muster the courage to be candid on the basic problem of Kashmir. Mehbooba’s outright rejection of the Kashmir media machinations is a yeoman’s task and a pointer that she now means business in the right perspective,” said a retired government employee.
