Seven killed in Haryana road mishap

AMBALA: Seven persons, including two students and five college lecturers of SRM Institute of Engineering and Technology, were killed and 19 others injured, when the bus they were travelling in collided with a truck near Rajpur village on Saha-Shahzadpur road in Ambala district on Tuesday.

Ambala, March 31 

Seven persons, including two students and five college lecturers of SRM Institute of Engineering and Technology, were killed and 19 others injured, when the bus they were travelling in collided with a truck near Rajpur village on Saha-Shahzadpur road in Ambala district on Tuesday.

The bus was ferrying 29 persons to the college when the mishap occurred.

Fourteen injured persons were admitted to Ambala cantonment civil hospital and three to a local private hospital, where their condition was stated to be out of danger.

Five critically injured were rushed to PGIMER at Chandigarh.

Meanwhile, the driver of the truck and his helper fled from the spot leaving the vehicle behind. 

Cabinet Minister for Health and Sports Anil Vij along with senior functionaries of the district civil as well as police administration rushed to the accident site. 

The bodies have been sent for postmortem and a case has been registered.
