EVMs finally shifted from Karnal school

Finally, the district authorities have removed the EVMs from 17 classrooms of the SD Model Senior Secondary School here so that studies could be resumed. The Tribune had highlighted the issue two days back, following which the authorities took prompt action to remove the EVMs.

The PWD has been assigned the work to renovate all the rooms where the EVMs were kept for the last two months. “We have shifted all the EVMs from the school and the PWD will renovate all the rooms,” said Vinay Partap Singh, Deputy Commissioner.

The Election Commission had kept the EVMs of five Assembly segments of the district in 17 classrooms of the school on May 12, affecting the studies of classes XI and XII. — TNS
