D’sala land transfer case to be probed

DHARAMSALA: Kangra DC Rakesh Prajapati said today that an inquiry into the land transfer case in Dharamsala had been ordered after the directions of Principal Secretary, Revenue, Onkar Sharma.

Dharamsala, July 11

Kangra DC Rakesh Prajapati said today that an inquiry into the land transfer case in Dharamsala had been ordered after the directions of Principal Secretary, Revenue, Onkar Sharma.

Sources said there were anomalies in the case. The complainant in the case said three poor land holders, who fulfilled the criteria of the government to get land, had still been waiting while rich and influential lease holders got the land.

Some of the lease holders, who called up The Tribune, claimed that the forest land was earlier barren and forest entry had been made in revenue record by error of some officials.

The sources, however, said even if this was the case, revenue officials could not transfer land in their name until the wrong entry in revenue record was corrected. — TNS
