The Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) conducted the Common Entrance Test (CET) – 2019 today for admissions to various undergraduate programmes.

According to university authorities, 2,753 students appeared for the exam for courses such as BSc hons (agriculture) 4-year, BSc hons (horticulture) 4-year, BTech (Biotechnology) 4-year, BTech (food technology) 4-year, BSc (hons) community science 4-year, BSc (hons) nutrition and dietetics 4-year, and 5-year integrated MSc (hons) in Biochemistry, Botany, Chemistry, Microbiology and Zoology.

Out of 2,753 candidates, 1,274 were boys and 1,479 were girls. The Controller of Examinations, PAU, Dr NK Khullar, said: “CET received an overwhelming response from across the state. 3,018 applications were received against 441 seats. It indicates that despite opening of many new institutes/colleges in Punjab, PAU is a favourite destination of students to receive quality education in agriculture and allied fields.”

“A total of 11 centres were set-up in two different schools of the city and in the PAU campus,” he added.

The Registrar of PAU, Dr RS Sidhu, said the results would be available on website of the university.—TNS
