The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority has notified 3,000 hectares  in Jewar for the “world-class” airport in the national capital region, he said.

While 1,000 hectares will be acquired under the first phase, the government expects the entire project to cost Rs 15,000- 20,000 crore.

The Noida International Airport is expected to ease the pressure on the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport. It will be located 72 km from IGI Airport and 65 km from Hindon Air Force station in Ghaziabad.

The metro service in Noida is likely to be extended up to Jewar. — Agencies
