The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday apprehended a drug peddler in Kulgam district of south Kashmir.
During patrolling, a police party intercepted a suspicious person, who tried to flee from the spot after noticing them. “During the search, officers were able to recover eight grams of heroin like contraband substance, a digital weighing machine and a cash of Rs 700 from his possession,” the police said, identifying the person as Zubair Ahmad Dar of Batingoo, Anantnag, in South Kashmir. The police said Dar was arrested and shifted to the police station.
Meanwhile, the police said it conducted police-community partnership group (PCPG) meetings at various police stations. Police said officers present at these meetings gave a patient hearing to issues and assured the public that their issues, which are about other departments will be taken up immediately with the officers concerned for appropriate action.
