Radical Sikh leaders have decided not to lift their dharna at Bargari despite the tabling of the Justice Ranjit Singh (retd) Commission report in the Vidhan Sabha and the show-cause notices issued to 32 officers on Monday.

Parallel Jathedar Dhian Singh Mand said the agitation had nothing to do with the tabling of the report.

“We are sticking to our main demands: Arrest and punishment for culprits of sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib; action against cops who had opened fire on Sikhs at Behbal Kalan village in October 2015; transfer of Sikh political prisoners to Punjab jails; and premature release of those who have completed their sentence,” Mand said.

“We will continue our peaceful dharna till the CM visits Bargari and accepts these demands,” he added.
