Punjab has become the first state to give digitised certificates to Class XII students from this year onwards. The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has already uploaded results for all streams of the last academic session (2017-2018) on the National Academic Depository (NAD).

Now students won’t have to spend time or money to get their certificates personally. The “totally” secure documents will be available online. These can be officially verified online and downloaded too, if required.

The facility will address academic frauds by people who procure fake certificates. It will facilitate job verification and background checks on candidates seeking employment or further education

Confirming this, Secretary, School Education, Krishan Kumar said: “The PSEB has become the first state school board in the country to provide the facility of online certificates.

This will save a lot of time and effort of students in procuring certificates from different sources and later getting them attested. In the next phase, the board will work on uploading the results of the previous batches.”

Fit with the facility of online verification of certificates, the process will save time spent on the process. The NAD will ensure secrecy of certificates.

Under the system, students need to register themselves with the NAD using their Aadhaar cards.

Those who do not possess Aadhaar cards are required to have a Unique National Academic Depository ID. Details can be accessed through the digital certificate link available on the PSEB website —www.pseb.ac.in.
