AMRITSAR: The Geological Society of India will be conducting entrance test for International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO)-2019 on January 19 at GNDU.

The Geological Society of India will be conducting entrance test for International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO)-2019 on January 19 at GNDU. Students studying in classes IX, X and XI can fill their application forms. The responsibility for conducting the examination at Amritsar centre has been given to Prof Avinash Kaur Nagpal, botanical and environmental sciences, GNDU, for the second consecutive year. Nagpal informed that the main objective of IESO-2019 was to encourage students, increase awareness and training of earth sciences at the school level.

Top 30 students will be selected for participation in 25 days training camp in May 2019. The top four students will represent India at the 13th IESO in Daegu, South Korea. This will encourage friendly relations between young students of different countries.
