Lovepreet Singh, the victim

Lovepreet Singh (24) of Mari Nauabad, 40 km from here, was murdered by a group of men at his house on Thursday night. Before murdering him, the assailants locked his parents in another room.
Deceased’s mother Kulwinder Kaur said she along with her husband and Lovepreet Singh were sleeping in the yard of the house when five unidentified persons with sharp-edge weapons turned up and locked the couple in a room.
After that, they murdered Lovepreet Singh, she said.
Bhikhiwind SHO Manjinder Singh said a case under Sections 302, 342, 452, 148, 149 and 120-B of the IPC had been registered against the assailants. Further investigation is on. The deceased had strained relations his with wife who has been residing with her parents. — OC
