The Health Department organised a camp at Harsha Chinna village in Lopoke block to facilitate differently abled persons with disability certificates. Civil Surgeon Dr Narinder Kaur said physically challenged persons had to face many problems if they didn’t have the disability certificate.

“The disability certificate enables them to take benefit of many social security schemes of the government. Such persons often fail to visit offices due to difficulty in physical mobility,” she said.

Dr Narinder Kaur said the Deputy Commissioner had instructed the department to hold such programmes at various parts to issue on the spot certificates. She said specialist doctors were available during the camp to examine the extent of disabilities and issue certificates accordingly.
