Bihar woos Ludhiana apparel exporters

CHANDIGARH:Having received lucrative offer from the Bihar Government to set up industry there, Ludhiana-based apparel exporters will meet Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh soon and demand similar incentives.

Having received lucrative offer from the Bihar Government to set up industry there, Ludhiana-based apparel exporters will meet Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh soon and demand similar incentives. 

“The apparel exporters visited Bihar to explore possibilities of investment. The most promising aspect offered by the Bihar Government is availability of land at affordable rates. They agreed to provide land at Dehri-On-Sone at Rs 18 lakh per acre on 99-year lease,” said Harish Dua, president, Apparel Exporter Organisation. It is offering around 80 acres to apparel exporters and dyeing units.

“Secondly, the Bihar Government will bear the expenditure for training of workers and an amount of Rs 20,000 will be disbursed per trainee to us. Thirdly, the state government is offering interest subvention scheme where the interest on bank loans up to Rs 20 crore for initial five years will be paid by the state government,” he said.

“In addition to this, the Bihar Government has assured that they will set up a common facility centre, common effluent treatment plant and sewage treatment plant etc.,” he added.
