CHANDIGARH:Ajmer scored 31 points as Gurukul Global School, Mani Majra, registered an 81-76 win over PMLSD Public School, Sector 32, in the semifinals of Rao Jai Singh Memorial Basketball Tournament here today.

Chandigarh, December 9

Ajmer scored 31 points as Gurukul Global School, Mani Majra, registered an 81-76 win over PMLSD Public School, Sector 32, in the semifinals of Rao Jai Singh Memorial Basketball Tournament here today. 

Asadh managed 20 points for SD Public School.

In the final, Gurukul Global School will meet Sri Guru Gobind Singh College, Sector 26, who drubbed Creane Memorial High School, Gaya, 66-38 in the last-four contest. 

Sachin netted 18 points for SGGS College, while Jai Baburah scored 13 points for the Gaya team.

Strawberry girls advance

In Shanta H Singh Memorial Basketball Tournament, girls from Strawberry Fields High School defeated Learning Paths School, Mohali, 58-40 in the semifinals. Ameera scored 21 points for Strawberry Fields School, while Adees (15 points) was the lead scorer for Learning Paths School.

In the other semifinal match, Vivek High School, Sector 38, registered a 43-32 win over Chakwal National Senior Secondary School, Kurali. 

Hargun (14 points) was the top scorer for Vivek High School. Nandani scored an equal number of points for the Kurali outfit. 


Aaryan steers St Joseph’s to victory 

Chandigarh: Skipper Aaryan Verma hit a strokeful 65 to guide St Joseph’s School, Sector 44, to an eight-wicket win against St Xavier’s School, Sector 44, in a Molly Carver Memorial match here on Monday. Batting first, St Xavier’s School made 116/9 in 25 overs. Khuspreet Singh scored 49 runs, while Himanshu and Yajat added 12 runs each to the total. In reply, St Joseph’s boys rode on Verma’s knock to achieve the target in 20.5 overs. Ishaan Gaba remained not on 22. TNS
